Building Work

1923/24 Coughlan Bros built the Temporary Library for Cork on Tuckey St. This was used until 1930 when it moved to the new premises on the Grand Parade. This is now the SVP office in Cork City

Freemans Journal Wed 3 Sept 1924 Lord Mayor Questioned by Mr Donegan about Spending and among other items he was questioned about allowing a contract for a Cork Corporation job being given to an Alderman. Nothing much came of this according to the papers of the time.

Coughlan Bros were comissioned to complete the draining and some building works for the Irish Industrial and Agricultural Fair in 1932

Mssrs Coughlan Bros, Sawmill St, built the bars at the fair, did all the drainage system for the fair which ran from May to October in 1932. He also built an enquiry office on Patrick St for the fair, as well as all the 
lavatories and kiosks for the massive event which was constructed on the Carrigrohane Strait. Here is a video of the fair from Pathé News
